How-to-win-games-in-Fortnite-Season 7

Fortnite is the hottest topic at the moment, and it is such an easy game to get into, and, appears to be a much simpler than it's rival PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds. What you'll find with time, is that this game is rich in strategies and requires a strong mastery of some mechanics to be able to get a consistent success.
With many players joining everyday, it means competition is getting insanely fierce to get that Fortnite #1 Victory Royale spot by out-surviving all of the other 99 enemies.
Keep in mind that there are some simple facts to win more games that everybody has to respect, on of them being a good setup, it helps you win more games. Obviously, If you're having FPS problems you wont be able to shoot properly, so if you do, I advise you to check out this detailed Fortnite FPS Guide for every platform out-there(except Android and iOS). Internet is important too!, you don't want to LAG, do you? no body does, so if you're lagging, consider putting some extra $$ on a new plan and upgrade your internet.
on the other hand, daily practice has been always the best way to get better at anything not just the game, but it's not enough, game knowledge is important. This Pro Fortnite Guide will give you 25 Tips and Tricks about Fortnite that you probably didn't know, and can be used to get you closer to a steady #1 Victory Royale.

1. Get a Good Start

fortnite-good-start

At each start of a game, choose a promising spot in the bus, more structures mean more loot, but isolation will give you sometime to get yourself ready. Prepare to adapt during this landing phase by always keeping an eye on where the other players are landing in, and if you find them heading in your direction, then go the other way, because its probably going to get really messy down there. Your order of priorities when landing should be:
  1. Find yourself a way out of the open
  2. Find a weaponany weapon
  3. Find and collect building resources.
One of Fortnite's tips that I personally use up to this date, is waiting until the bus reaches the very edge of the map before jumping out. As you're less likely to bump into other players and you'll have more chances of getting some undisturbed loot. Yes, you may have to travel a bit further to get inside the circle as the storm closes in, but it's definitely worth it for that great opening.

2. Nail Your Landing

When leaving the bus, you may see some players pulling out their gliders slower than you. How? It comes down to how high you are above land, for example, your glider will open a lot higher over a mountain than it would over low ground(lake). So choosing your path and approximating where your glider is going to open, will get you ahead of your opponents to claim that chest. Falling over a low area will allow you to open your parachute as late as possible, then if you swerve over to a hill or building you can land quicker and sprint off on foot.

3. Perfect Your Gear

An example of a well-balanced load-out is a shotgun, an assault rifle, and a sniper rifle, with the other slots of your inventory filled up with healing items. You don't have to always take this route, but the idea behind this is to be able to protect yourself from any distance possible.
Also listen out for chests, as they make a noise when you’re close by and can contain at least one good loot, high level item, and some of Fortnite's best collection of weapons. They’re usually hidden in attics or in basements, so be prepared to break stuff to get to them out. Gear comes in six colors, know them and you won’t be wasting your time trying to get to a blue item when you already have a set of purples:

  • Common Grey
  • Uncommon Green
  • Rare Blue
  • Epic Purple
  • Legendary Gold

4. Stay Under Cover All Times

Avoid running across open areas. Stick to cover as much as possible, and if you do have to make a long run, make sure you are well covered or keep jumping to make yourself a hard target. You can sprint without limits, so there's no excuse to be slow!
Also remember that bushes are your friends, so use them often, i wouldn't recommend the bush disguise from the consumable though, because it’s a huge obstruction for yourself.

5. Use Your Surroundings to Track and Hunt nearby enemies

If you run into a new area and see construction has taken place, be very wary as someone has a base set up there, and they might also be around the base to defend it. Likewise, damaged buildings also shows that you're not the first person to access them, so be always on the lookout for an opponent presence
For example, if you see a ramp going up the mountain, you can bet (or at least assume) that enemies have taken a base for them up the mountain.

6. Cover up Your Tracks The Right Way

fortnite-cover-up-tracks

Always close the door. This is one of the most useful things you can do while exploring the map, as closing a door allows you to hear enemies entering the building you're inside of. Think of it as an alarm system, giving you a few seconds to prepare yourself.
Also, open doors tell other players that someone has passed through the building before, so don't give away your position by leaving them open.
When cutting wood, try not to completely cut down trees and leave the big trees with at least one hit left on them, so you don't give your position away when the tree disappears from other players screen.

7. Fortnite Consumables are IMPORTANT

You should come across consumables across the whole map to recover your health and get a shield. These are handy to have as backup, but there's no point carrying them around for later stages of the game if you can get the benefit from them immediately.
In Fortnite, the better the item is, the longer it will take to consume, so make sure you're covered and out of sight before using a consumable. These are the benefits you get from various consumables in Fortnite:

  • Shield Potion: +50 Shield, to a maximum of 100. Use time is 4 seconds. Maximum carry stack is 3
  • Small Shield Potion: +25 Shield, to a maximum of 50. Use time is 2 seconds. Maximum carry stack is 10
  • Medkit: Restores full Health. Use time is 10 seconds. Maximum carry stack is 3
  • Bandages: +15 Health, to a maximum of 75. Use time is 4 seconds. Maximum carry stack is 15
  • Slurp Juice: +1 Health or Shield per second for 75s. If you reach max health while consuming a Slurp Juice, it will overlap to give you extra shield too. Use time is 2 seconds. Maximum carry stack is 2
  • Chug Jug: Restores full Health and Shield. Use time is 15 seconds. Maximum carry stack is 1

8. Use the Storm to Your OWN Advantage

In the initial rounds, don’t fear the Storm shrinking on you, as it gives you plenty of time to get inside the Eye, and even if you do find yourself in the danger zone, your health drains pretty slowly. Once you’re into round 4 or 5, the storm is deadly, so watch your health and try not to get trapped in it.
As you’re getting closer to the middle of the map, and, the players count ins decreasing, be aware of staying on the outer side of the circle. With your back to the edge of the Storm you're unlikely to get attacked from behind(where the storm has taken place), you can use this positioning in your tactics if possible.
Always remember to watch where the Eye of the Storm is, and, how long is left on the clock until the next Storm Eye Shrinking takes place, then plan ahead your route and make sure you leave yourself enough time to reach safety.

9. Always Stay Up-High

fortnite-high-hill

Being higher than other players will often give you an advantage, so try to camp at the top of buildings, head up hills and build vertically, and, you should do this to keep up with all potential threats.
You can get to hard-to-reach places by jumping on tires
If you see a stack of tires in the game, jump on them, it makes you jump much higher than the game's height cap. This is very useful if you want to get on top of a building but you don't have(or want to use) materials to get up there.

10. Wood is your Trusted Friend

Wood starts with more HP, and, it is the fastest to get its Full HP built up, so it will take 2 shots from a shotgun to knock down a freshly erected wooden wall compared to one shot for metal or brick. This is because of the way the game initializes each building piece's health. They load up with a fixed percentage of their maximum health, scaling top-down from wood to metal.
If you have a little time and safety on your hands? Build a sturdier long-term base with the other materials.

11. Know When to Back-Off

Use the health bars to figure out if you can or can't win a fight. When you shoot enemies, you see numbers appear on top of their head, these numbers indicate how much damage you've dealt to them. If the numbers are colored in blue and then begin to turn to white or yellow, that means the enemy player had a shield potion ticking and you've exposed their health bar.
If your shots aren't showing any blue and you still have some of your shield, you're winning the fight. If not, you'd better think about retreating quickly. One of the best options for a quick runaway is rifts, or rift grenades.

12. Use Rifts In Fortnite to Quickly get Across The map

how-to-fortnite-rifts

They look like blue sparkling clusters in mid-air, and, when you enter one, you’ll get teleported to the air, it's almost like if you are jumping from the battle bus once again. They spawn in designated places throughout the map such as by the burger statue near Pleasant Park or on the mountain by Viking Village.
Rifts are also a great way to flee from the incoming storm if you won’t make, or as a way to escape from any enemy nearby. Be careful that rifts don’t disappear instantly, instead they stay for a few seconds, so if your enemy is quick enough, they can quickly follow you through the rift and chase you mid-air.

13. Turn on "Builder Pro controls" in Fortnite settings

how-to-fortnite-pro-builder-settings

Hidden in the settings menu, there is a load of controller settings (and PC ones too). It allows you to tweak different things about your control layout. It's worth taking a look in there in between matches to make sure everything is in its place.
Switch to Builder Pro for faster building, turn on Sprint Cancels Reloading, Tap to Search / Interact, Controller Auto-RunTurbo Building and Auto Material Change.

14. Building is Your Best Weapon in Fortnite.

Treat building like your ultimate weapon. You can always get the better position than your enemy when building. Even if you think you can get a lot of shots off without building, don’t risk it. Build some decent cover and peek from behind the cover, take a few shots then build again.
Being able to build a structure over your opponent's head while they're struggling to dodge your shots will make them panic, and the ability to dictate the pace of the fight by making them build up to you will often be in your favor.
Get to learn the 'instant combat tower' structure, and get it into your muscle memory. 4 walls, a staircase in the middle, move up and repeat to build a simpleeffectiveelevated fort that you can duck in and out of at will. Getting sniped while out in the open? Throw walls down between you and your attacker, to buy yourself time as you run for cover.

15. One-Shot Bases in Fortnite

Almost all bases in Fortnite have a weakness, their foundation. If you take out the base's foundation, it'll come to the ground.
Separate the building from the ground, and watch the whole thing come crashing down to the ground. And if you're lucky enough to find grenades or rocket launchers, they help you take down bases much easier.

16. Reorder your Stuff & be Always Prepared

fortnite-inventory-rearrange

It pays to take a second and get a new look inside your Fortnite backpackRearranging things so that all the weapons are next each other is a good trick that'll make sure you can swap faster between a shotgun and an assault rifle with a quick click, rather that having to scroll through bandages and juice to make the same move.

17. Shoot Now, Ask Questions Later

Never get distracted by free loot sitting on the ground while there is an enemy in your sightShoot the enemy first, Loot later, its that simple and it is an effective way to stay alerted while roaming the map.

18. Be Prepared for the End-Game

If you're in the endgame, you're up against a handful of players in a small area. So blow up as much potential cover as you go through the map. These final stand-offs tend to be a waiting game, where hidden players wait and bait each other into exposing themselves first, so be careful !. If you've obtained a Slurp Juice through out the game, save it, as this item is most effective consumable when you are about to fight. If you see an enemy before they see you and you are about to engage on them, be sure to use your Slurp Juice, as this will regenerate both of your armor and health for a short period of time, giving you a better advantage over your enemy.

19. Crouch Crouch and Crouch

fortnite-crouching

Crouching down keeps you slow and quiet, meaning you can move around without making noises and give your position away. You'll quickly hear anyone else that's near, and who's running or using their pick-axe to mine for resources.

20. Be Careful from Dead player Drops.

Sometimes you'll spot some free loot just lying on the ground, rather than being in a chest or hidden away inside a building. That is a sign that some one has been killed there, so be aware from the person that killed them may be hanging nearby looking to kill you too
Instead of always diving headfirst into that loot, stay back and observe the scene, once you're 100% sure the area is empty, you can go grab your free loot.

21. Supply Drops Can be a Trap !

fortnite-supply-drops-trap

Supply drops contain a collection of the rarest guns in the game (SCAR-L rifles, sniper rifles, rocket launchers...) They're always highly contested.
If you're in a position to safely get one of these for yourself, build a dome around you and get it open. But keep in mind that others may also be in the area looking to get it for themselves too, and they might be leaving it as bait for players to take. You can use this tactic yourself.

22. Nom-Nom on Apples and Mushrooms

You'll find them laying down by trees or in the dark areas, although you can't shove a handful of them in your pockets. An apple will give you 5 HP, and a mushroom will add 5 shield, they are great when you can't find anything.

23. Vehicles are loud, like really, really, REALLY loud

fortnite-vehicle-are-loud

Seriously, vehicles are really loud. So only use them as a last chance because they don’t offer much protection, means anyone can get few shots onto you before you can dismount out of the vehicle and build a cover. Even if they’re extremely fun ! It’s a high risk/low reward situation, consider it only if you’re certainly going to die without one.

24. Always Use a Headset/Headphones

fortnite-headset
Fortnite's excellent use of spatial audio is only enhanced when you're wearing a gaming headset. Gunshots, Footsteps and other sounds will feel much more immersive and you'll be able to identify which direction the enemy is coming from by wearing headphones.

Fortnite Tips & Tricks For Duos and Squad

fortnite-duo-squad-tips-and-tricks-season7

Teaming in Fortnite is a much different experience than playing it solo. If you choose to play with a duo/squad, than consider these tips and tricks to keep in mind.

1. Shoot The One With The GUN !

Anyone who duos or squad knows how it feels to see enemies get a second chance when you shoot them. They'll fall to their knees for a chance to get revived by nearby teammates.
So before you start dumping the rest of your ammo into the downed foe, take some time to clear your surroundings and make sure that their friends are not  around the corner. Always remember, enemies on the ground can't shoot you. Also, you can use the downed enemies as bait to draw their friends in, so let them live a little while and watch if their friends come to help.

2. Let them die.

fortnite-dying-teammate

If your teammates are downed, you need to check if you can eliminate the threat, or if your teammate can get to a safe area where you guys can't get shot. If you can't get to your teammate because of crowded area, then it's always better that one person survives than none surviving at all.

3. Share Fortnite Loot With Your Teammates

Not much to say here, but always look out for your teammates, always share loot, having a bunch of weapons on everyone on the team, is way better than having everything on one person's backpack.

4. Communication is the Greatest strategy

fortnite-communication-is-a-good-strategy

What's the first thing you should do when you spot an enemy? On your own, it may be to take a shot and pray for the best, but when you're in a squad it's worth relaying everything you learn about your enemies and their position to your teammates before you decide to make a move.

You should also get on the squawk box to talk about the items you find, the location of the storm and the safe zone, whether you have ammo, or need to heal or reload. Some of this info may seem small in a vacuum, but together it will dictate your strategy in every single phase of the match.

5. Never be alone.

One of the worst feelings in Fortnite is getting caught on your own, being too far from your teammates to receive help. When you drop from the bus, try stick with the team and follow them.
You guys don't have to follow each other all the time, but try to stay close enough to your teammates so when a fight breaks down, you'll be near the fight.
